Piranha Records
2/22/2006- So while over at over at Sound on Sound, Jason (the owner of SoS) told me I had to check out Piranha Records or I would parish in hell forever! Ok maybe he didn't say that, but he did say it was worth the trip out to Round Rock. Having been there and back now, I have to agree! This place has a scary amount of good records and has a lot of specialized sections of not only LP's, but CD's, posters and even games. The owner John Almen was also very excited about this site and was suprised to hear about many of the record shops around the Central Texas area. While it is a good 12 miles from downtown Austin, Piranha Records is worth the trip, even if you are visiting San Antonio! The prices for used records were reasonable to a great extent, though when they know what they have, they price it accodingly.

Located in a strip center, Piranha definetly has that "suburban" feel |
Though I am not on the "in" on these shirts, at least I they weren't really mountain dew shirts! (someone please explain these to me) |

As you can see, Piranha offers inscents and Red Bull. Also they have a huge selection of Picture Discs on the Wall. |
They also have a decent DVD selection |

LIke any good independent record shop, Piranha sports a vast array of shirts and posters throughout the store. |
Ahhh... the record selection... to say the least I was very impressed. They had so many good records I just had to stop looking due to the fact that I would have spent hundreds! |
