End of an Ear

2/22/2006- So I have made my way down to end of an ear, and if you are looking for a great place to find " indie pop, experimental, obscure, prog, psych, jazz, techno, folk, french pop, soul, funk, punk, lounge, reggae, hip-hop, techno and other sounds..." (their site) End of an Ear is a great place to go to. I have been there multiple times and they have been most helpful. I know nothing about punk music and when I asked for some help finding some records they were quick to hook me up with some great tunes. Also they host art shows regularly, one of my friends Honoria Starbuck had a show there and it was great. This place like the others on this site are a class act and a must to visit!

I will post more about End of an Ear in the future.

2/23/2006- So I made my way over to End of an Ear to get some photo's, man were they excited to hear about this site and I was excited to see one of Jason's (of Sound on Sound) Record Shop maps on their wall, too cool! So I met Blake Carlisle, co-owner with Dan Plunkett, boy was he friendly and ever so enthusicastic about the whole idea of creating an independent record shop site. I will let the pictures do the talk'n for what I saw tonight:

Here is a cool shot of the outside of End of an Ear	As you can see End of an Ear does not feel cramped, which I really like!
You got to have the mag section!	Check it!
Even more!	So End of an Ear sponsers art shows all the time, while I was there shooting, Eric Berger's work on on display.
I really like how well lit the art show section is	...
End of an Ear has a nice sized CD section and to the right of they also have DVD's	Here is what a typical record rack looks like at End of an Ear.

They also have a listening section with multiple stations	Got to have the promos, nice....
and the localzines...	So I got Blake to take a photo by the registar so that when you walk into the shop you know who to ask for help when trying to find some killer tunes!
Ok I just threw this shot in for pure photographic reasons... I will leave it at that...	So that was my trip, this place rocks, make sure you stop by End of an Ear if you are in Austin.
